This is an Ichibancha (the first harvest) Sencha. Finished in the traditional Uji/Kyoto style. Sencha is harvested three or four times a year. But with each harvest, the tea becomes slightly lower in quality. This is why the first flush, or Ichibancha, is the best and why we love this tea so much!
Sencha contains more of the beneficial nutrient Catechin than other green teas, because it is grown in full sunlight, thus it becomes yellow-green in colour. Characteristics of this Sencha include a mellow taste, refreshing aroma and clean finish. This is a favourite green tea of ours and one that you will most certainly enjoy!
Flavour Profile: Sweet, Mellow, Slight Fruitiness
Dosing - 1 teaspoon ( 2-3grams) per 250ml of water
Brewing Temperature - 75-80°c
Brewing time - 1 to 2min
Recommend additions - This tea is best enjoyed on its own
